The Deputy Chief of the NZ Navy says no oil leaks are coming from the sunken Manawanui. However the Samoa Observer states, "A group of young men surfing at Tafitoala said when they returned to shore, their bodies were covered with an oil-like substance". According to NZ Officialdom, these Samoan surfers must have wild imaginations.
